Health Science Law
The Health Science Club would like to express our appreciation to our speakers, Dr. Raphael Zingg and Dr. Moritz Kälin, and extend our gratitude to IPrime Rentsch Kaelin AG for their valuable collaboration in organizing our recent Crash Course on Health Science Law. Their combined efforts and expertise provided us with insightful knowledge and a deeper understanding of the complex legal regulations within the health science industry.
During the event, Dr. Zingg shared important insights into the legal requirements involved in bringing a product to market. He emphasized the distinction between medicinal products and medical devices, and highlighted the role of patents and marketing authorizations in this process. His examples showcased the dynamic interplay between law and innovation.
Dr. Kälin, a patent attorney, delved into the world of intellectual property rights (IPR) and its significance in the health science sector. He provided a comprehensive overview of different types of intellectual property, such as patents and trademarks, and explained the criteria for an invention to be deemed patentable. His discussions on economic value and market protection shed light on the importance of intellectual property in the industry.
The interactive workshop that followed allowed our Health Science Club members to engage further with the topics covered and gain practical insights into the world of IP and legal regulations.
We extend our gratitude to the speakers for their expertise and engaging presentations, which have undoubtedly enriched our knowledge in the field. Their contributions have left a lasting impact on our members and have provided valuable guidance for future endeavors. We also want to express our appreciation to all participants for their active involvement and making this event a success.
