Crash Course: Health Science Law

Health sciences law is a complex and rapidly evolving field that deals with legal issues related to healthcare, biomedical research, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. It includes a range of legal regulations and guidelines, such as medical malpractice law, FDA regulations, patent law, and ethics. Understanding the basics of health sciences law is crucial for anyone working in the health sciences field.

The evening seminar led by Dr. Sc. ETH Raphael Zingg (Lecturer ETH, Attorney-at-Law at IPrime) and Dr. sc. nat. ETH Moritz Kälin (European and Swiss Patent Attorney at IPrime) is an opportunity for individuals to learn about the basics of health sciences law. The presentations will cover essential legal topics in health sciences, such as regulatory requirements and intellectual property protection.

In addition, an interactive team-based workshop will be led for students to apply their new knowledge.

Additionally, the seminar will provide insights on how individuals with STEM education can pursue a career in life science law. Life science law is a growing field that combines scientific knowledge with legal expertise, and there are various opportunities for individuals with STEM backgrounds to work in this field.
